Private Collection acquired at the above auction.

More information

F Berthoud was born in Switzerland but moved to Paris, 1745 he started to work with Julien Le Roi and shortly afterworth he started his own workshop. Berthoud is prehaps known as the most prominent maker of chronometers in France.
