A blue and white dragon vase, Qing dynasty with Xuande six character mark.

Drop shaped, with a tall neck, decorated with a fierce five clawed dragon. Height 42 cm.

Shortened neck, has been used as a lamp.

Provenance

From the collection of engineer Claes A Philips (1912-2000), thence by descent. Claes Philip was a passionate collector of Antiquites, Old Masters, Asian Works of Arts, fine European furniture and decorative arts. His eclectic home was presented in a spectacular way at Trollesunds Säteri up until 1965, thereafter in his home in Stockholm.

According to the family inventory note the previous provenance is from Mrs Kinch, Siam, who in 1900 recieved it as a gift from General Münter.

General Münter donated a large part of his collection to the Nationalmuseum in Copenhagen.

According to the family inventory the vase was exhibited in the 1933 exhibition in Copenhagen.
