The international Fine Art Live auction Modern Art + Design follows up the autumn's successes with the Olle Emanuelsson Collection, Lars Norén's collection and the Live auction Contemporary Art & Design.

See the extensive catalogue that presents significant works by Otto G Carlsund, Gösta Adrian-Nilsson (GAN), Sigrid Hjérten, Isaac Grünewald, Carl Kylberg, Olle Baertling and international stars such as Maurice Estève, Ram Kumar and Bernard Buffet. Among the highlights, we would like to pay special attention to Otto G Carlsund's early work "Lokomobilen (La machine à vapeur)", a work owned by the same family since the 1920s, which has never been for sale before. The auction's highest estimate is Gösta Adrian-Nilsson (GAN) with the magnificent painting "Sailors" (estimate 6-8 MSEK), followed by "Sailors in Gothenburg" (4–4.5 MSEK), two significant works from a limited but fascinating period in GAN's production around 1918/1919.

Bukowskis´ design department presents several stunning collections of internationally sought-after objects from our leading 20th-century designers. The catalogue includes exclusive and unique objects by Josef Frank, Estrid Ericson, Axel Einar Hjorth, Poul Kjaerholm, Carl Hörvik and masterful ceramics from Picasso and Wilhelm Kåge alongside glass from Bertil Vallien and Fulvio Bianconi. Bukowskis can also present a unique textile by Sigrid Hjertén and several carpets from Märta Måås-Fjetterström to name a few. One of the department's top lots is the Josef Frank cabinet, "Plan de Paris à vol d'oiseau", with its estimate of SEK 800.000 – 1.000.000. Another rarity is the internationally sought-after table "Mora" by Axel Einar Hjorth. See also a historical collection of lighting by Hans Bergström, the master of light.

A guide for buyers – how to bid

You can bid with a paddle in the auction room, by phone, by absentee bidding, or by live online. Choose the option you find the most convenient. Please notice that if you are an Online customer, you need to be approved as a Live auction customer to be able to bid at the auction. Bidding Online

You can participate in the auction in real time via a computer. To submit online bids in excess of SEK 3 million, we need a bank reference. Please email our customer service at to be cleared for this level of online bidding.

Telephone bidding

When you bid by telephone, you are in contact by phone with one of our specialists who makes the bids on your behalf in the auction room. To be contacted by telephone, you need to submit your application for phone bidding by 8 PM on the day before the auction.

Absentee bidding

If you cannot attend the auction in person, we can bid on your behalf. Our customer service personnel handle the bidding confidentially and strive to obtain the lot for you at the lowest possible price.

Payment and collection


Payment must be made within 8 working days of the end of the auction. Payments for items purchased by private individuals with an address in Sweden, Finland, Germany or Austria for total amounts of up to SEK 300.000 are made via Klarna’s payment service. Payment options, e.g. card payments or invoice, are shown on the payment page. Payments are made via under ”My pages”. Payments for commercial customers and for private individuals for total amounts exceeding SEK 300.000 will be invoiced by Bukowski Auktioner AB. You will find your invoice at ”My pages” at Payment may also be made at the auction itself at Bukowskis’ premises at Berzelii Park. Please note that payments cannot be made in cash.


We welcome you to pay and collect your item Wednesday–Friday, November 17–19th and Monday–Tuesday, November 22–23th at Bukowskis, Arsenalsgatan 2, Stockholm.

Closed Saturday–Sunday, November 20–21th. No pickup is available between November 24–28th.

From Monday November 29th we welcome you to collect your item at Bukowskis, Västberga Allé 3, Stockholm.

As from Tuesday December 2nd a storage fee of 50 SEK per item and day will be charged for uncollected items. Full payment must be received before your lot can be collected.
