Georges Jacob (född i Cheny , den 6 juli 1739 och dog i Paris den5 juli 1814) Fick mästarskap 1765, är den mest kända och även den mest produktiva av de 1700-talets franska snickare. Han är grundaren av en dynasti; två av hans tre söner, Georges II Jacob ( 1768 - 1803 ) och François-Honoré-Georges Jacob-Desmalter ( 1770 - 1841 ), kommer att vara snickare och möbeltillverkare , därefter hans barnbarn Alphonse Jacob-Desmalter ( 1799 - 1870 ) kommer att sträcka berömmelsen av finsnickar namnet Jacob fram till det sena 1800-talet.
