Imperial presentation brosch, Karl Hahn, workmaster Alexander Treiden, St. Petersburg 1908-1911

Gold with one brilliant cut and two rose cut diamonds and two blue sapphires in the form of a crowned imperial eagle in a laurel wreath on a rope bar. The hook with workmaster initials and 56 standard, the needle with workmaster initials, and an illegible (standard?) mark. Length 4 cm. With original red leather box with the imperial eagle.

Provenance

According to family tradition given to miss Emma-Lisa Jansson, employed at the Swedish Court at the beginning of the 20th century.

More information

Juvelerarfirman Karl Hahn var en av de större leverantörerna till det ryska kejserliga hovet av presentationsgåvor. Firman upphörde 1911 och haltstämpeln på auktionens brosch infördes 1908 vilket ger ramarna för tillverkningstiden.
1909 gör kejsarparet, Nicholaus II och Alexandra ett officiellt statsbesök i Sverige. Vid detta tillfälle delades ett stort antal gåvor ut de flesta idag svåra att identifiera. Möjligen gavs denna brosch vid detta tillfälle.
