More information

In ancient Greek mythology, Hebe is the goddess of youth. She was the daughter of Zeus and Hera and her mission was to give the immortality drink to the other Greek gods.
Bertel Thorvaldsen made two versions of Hebe, one statue from 1806 (which the current catalog number follows), and one statue from 1816, almost identical to the first, but with the chest completely covered by the goddess's costume.
