A pair of Chinese blanc de chine figures of buddhist lions, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722).

Each seated with one paw resting upon a brocade ball, wearing a tassled collar around their necks and a ribbon in their jaws. Height 9 cm.

Wear. Firing cracks.

Provenance

The Collection of Ivan Traugott (1871-1952). Thence by descent. Marked by inventory no (I.T. 748 A/B).

Traugott was a Swedish businessman and important art collector. A large part of his collections can be seen today at Nationalmuseum and East Asian Museum in Stockholm.

Purchased at Pergamenter, Berlin 1917.
