A pair of famille verte plates, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722).

Decorated with two figures, one facing backwards and riding a pale yellow horse, the other walking, holding a folded parasol moving away from a building with a stone wall and also a table with antiques. The rims with auspicious objects. Base marked with an underglazed blue incense burner. Diameter 22.5 cm.

Provenance

The Collection of Ivan Traugott (1871-1952). Marked with invenotory no. 2347. Thence by descent. Traugott was a Swedish businessman and important art collector. A large part of his collections can be seen today at Nationalmuseum and East Asian Museum in Stockholm.
