Alfred Bomans måleri utgör ett energiskt men kontrollerat bearbetande av färgen. Den intensiva färgskalan och de skarpa kontrasterna för tankarna till afrikanskt modernistiskt måleri, men det går också att associera till åttiotalsexpressionism. Bilderna är emellertid varken expressionistiska eller formalistiska. Snarare handlar det om ett materialutforskande måleri av högst samtida snitt.”
