J Harrisson Hall, Ming Ceramics in the British Museum, London 2001. pp 474-5. Openwork lonquan celadon vessels of this type are rare. Another example is illustrated here. There is a discussion about if these vessels might have contained incenese or been a brushpot since they are pierced.
