Provenance

Naval superintendent Carl Emil Peterson (1846-1920). Carl Emil Peterson was head of the commissariat administration at the naval station in Karlskrona, Sweden. He participated in the corvette Balder's expedition to the West Indies in 1885-86 where several islands were visited, including Trinidad. On this occasion he bought this watercolour, probably directly from the artist.Thence by descent in the family.
