Som ende svensk fick Hasse Persson göra en intervju och porträttera Larry Hagman i samband med att TV-serien Dallas skulle lanseras i Europa och Sverige. Larry Hagman blev ständigt utsatt för hot därför att många ansåg att han förlöjligade Texas-kulturen. Han tog inte någon notis om hoten förrän den dagen då John Lennon blev mördad ( december 1980). Han blev mycket skärrad över att det kunde ske. De här bilderna är tagna strax efter mordet på Lennon. Mot den bakgrunden blir det perfekta amerikanska leendet en mask där Hagmans egen person lyser igenom.
