More information

The inception of the project to create a unique timepiece in honor of the Swedish Navy's 500th anniversary emerged as a privately-driven endeavor in collaboration with Navy personnel in 2021. The primary aim was to establish a profound connection with the Navy's rich heritage, distinctive attributes, and storied history. The resulting watch, rooted in the Landsort 459m model, underwent a series of meticulous alterations and enhancements.

The exclusive opportunity to acquire this timepiece was limited to the auspicious anniversary year of 2022 and was extended solely to active Navy personnel and individuals with a background in the defense sector, such as former military personnel or employees.

Below, we outline the notable modifications made to this commemorative timepiece in comparison to the original Landsort 459m model:

Dial & Hands:

The dial has been crafted from carbon fiber, a contemporary material reflecting the modernity found on today's naval vessels.
The numeral "five" now replaces index five, ensuring a clear and distinguished representation of the five-century milestone, even in low-light conditions.
In vibrant red, the dial proudly displays the text "ROYAL SWEDISH NAVY 500."
The second hand culminates in the depiction of the anchor from the Navy's historical coat of arms.

Caseback:

The caseback proudly features the Navy's older coat of arms, accompanied by significant dates spanning the 500-year journey.
Each timepiece is individually numbered, rendering it a truly unique and cherished item.

Bezel & Inner Case Ring:

The bezel is constructed from steel and showcases raised indices for added distinction.
The inner case ring is inscribed with the renowned quote attributed to Gustav II Adolf: "NÄST GUD HWILA RIKETS SÄKERHET PÅ DESS FLOTTA," underscoring the profound importance of the Navy in safeguarding the realm.

This watch, a product of dedication and passion, serves as an enduring tribute to the Swedish Navy's illustrious history and its enduring commitment to the nation over the course of five centuries.
