More information

Elsa Thoresen and her husband, the artist Vilhelm Bjerke-Petersen, both members of the Danish Surrealist Group, traveled to Paris in 1938. There, Thoresen exhibited two artworks: Verdenslyset [World Light, 1937] and Jeb ved det ikke [I Don't Know, 1937]. Verdenslyset is reminiscent of the auction's motif from 1938 with the same title.
