A brooch set with an amethyst and old-cut diamonds

amethyst ca 2.4 X 1.9 cm, weight of the two larger diamonds ca 1.8 cts and 0.8 cts, silver and 14K gold, dimensions 4.5 x 4.5 cm, total weight 25 g. 19th century. According to family tradition the brooch has been a part of a tiara.

Provenance

Ulrika von Stedingk (1767-1831) who was married to Curt von Stedingk (1746-1837). Curt von Stedingk was, among other things, active as an ambassador in St. Petersburg and had particularly close and friendly ties to the tsar's family. In Ulrika von Stedingk's estate inventory, there are several amethyst jewelry pieces that could potentially correspond to the brooch that Bukowskis is selling.
