The leading auction for modern art and design in the Nordics is back with an outstanding lineup of groundbreaking art and qualitative design. Bukowskis is pleased to already now present some of the highlights from the upcoming live auction.
Top lots from the art department include Nils von Dardel's theatrical painting ’The Staircase’, which has been included in several prominent exhibitions both in Sweden and internationally. From Halmstadgruppen we find several works by GAN, including a sailor motif and a cubo-futuristic portrait. Other highlights include works by Inge Schiöler, Lotte Laserstein, Ragnar Sandberg, Carl Kylberg, Lennart Rodhe, and Tove Jansson. The international section boosts important works by Victor Vasarely, Henry Moore, and Asger Jorn and rare prints by Andy Warhol, Joan Miró, and Edvard Munch.
This season, Bukowskis is delighted to introduce a special section in celebration of Svenskt Tenn's centennial with rare objects from Svenskt Tenn's early production by Estrid Ericson, Josef Frank, Björn Trägårdh, Tyra Lundgren, and others. The design department also presents objects from some of the 20th century's leading Scandinavian and international designers, such as Dagobert Peche, Hans J Wegner, Otto Schulz, Carl-Axel Acking and Axel Einar Hjorth. Other design highlights include carpets by Märta Måås-Fjetterström, Barbro Nilsson, and Marianne Richter, silver and jewellery pieces by Sigurd Persson and Georg Jensen, as well as ceramics by Berndt Friberg. The online catalogue will be published on May 2. Contact our specialists for further information.
