A painted provincial chest, Norbotten, Sweden, dated 1827.

Polychrome painted. Fittings of wrought iron. Rectangular shape with an arched lid. Decorated with floral garlands. The lid features an interior painted white, along with the monogram HHS and the date 1827. Lined with leather. Width 55, depth 40, height 48 cm. Key included.

Partly worn with colour losses. Cracks due to dryness of the material. Stains.
