Circa 1920. A dark blue ground with a large polychrome medallion and corner ornaments as well as arabesques, predators, deer, birds, flower and palmette festoons. A yellow melange main border with cloud bands, stylized flowers, and large cartouches with inscriptions.

Saleroom notice

The carpet is from Yazd in the Kerman area, not Tehran as previously indicated.

Provenance

The Heidi Boyce Broström (1939–2022) collection, widow of shipowner Dan-Axel Broström (1915–1976).
