Provenance

Sven Hedin (1865-1952). During several expeditions around the turn of the century in 1900, Sven Hedin mapped Tibet and the areas around the Himalayas, journeys that he documented in numerous books and texts. The ring was an official gift to Hedin from the Tibetan leadership. Hedin gifted the ring to his godson Sven Grassman (1940-1992). It has since been passed down as an heirloom in the Grassman family.
