Provenance

Previously in the Wittfooth collections at Gysinge bruk, Gästrikland. Inherited by Gustaf & Christina Wittfooth's daughter Carolina (married af Ugglas) (1765-1810), married to Samuel af Ugglas (1750-1812), thereafter inherited within the af Ugglas family. Sold through;
Bukowskis Auctions, auction 469, 31 October - 3 November 1989, lot 83.

More information

Gustaf Wittfooth was an industrialist and owned, among others, Gysinge Ironworks in Gästrikland and Högfors Ironworks in Västmanland. With his wife Christina Brandt, he had a daughter, Carolina, who married Samuel af Ugglas, owner of, among other properties, Forsmarks Ironworks in Uppland.
