An Austrian Empire mahogany centre table, Vienna, early 1800's.
Mahogany veneer, gilded and bronze-patinated wood. Oval top with two drawers in the frieze, fittings of gilded brass in the form of female figures and griffins, legs in the form of curved leaf scrolls transitioning into seed pods and ending in hoof feet, X-shaped stretcher with decoration of laurel wreath, quiver, and torch. One drawer bottom marked "123 16/8". Length 96, width 69.5, height 71 cm.
