More information

Staffan Percy (1946–2024) was a Swedish singer-songwriter, composer, and guitarist known for his melodic and poetic songs, often with themes inspired by nature and a contemplative tone. Percy set music to poems by Swedish poets such as Nils Ferlin and Bo Setterlind, but he also wrote his own lyrics.

His musical style was characterized by soft arrangements and an appreciation for the simple and beautiful aspects of everyday life. He rose to prominence in the 1970s as part of the Swedish singer-songwriter movement, alongside artists like Cornelis Vreeswijk, Fred Åkerström, and Ola Magnell.

Some of his most well-known songs include:
- Visa vid vindens ängar (Song by the Wind’s Meadows)
- Om du nånsin kommer fram till Samarkand (If You Ever Reach Samarkand)
-Trubbel (Trouble, a rendition of Olle Adolphson’s song)

He remained active as a musician for many decades and was appreciated for his delicate vocal style and skilled guitar playing.
