twelve sterling silver small beakers, marks of Wiwen Nilsson, Lund, Sweden 1945-1946.

Hexagonal, conical shape with engraving TS on one side each. Signed Wiwen Nilsson. Three from 1946, the rest from 1945. Height 4.9 cm. Weight together approximately 575 g.

Designer

Wiwen Nilsson was a Swedish designer born in Copenhagen. He studied at his father's workshop, as well as in Germany, Denmark, and France. Nilsson is primarily known for his objects created in silver with geometric, clean, and austere forms. Nilsson debuted at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923. At the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, he had his major breakthrough, and his innovative modernism was a success. Nilsson created, among other things, jewellery, table silver, and services.
