An antique silk Kashan carpet, central Persia (Iran), c. 314 x 210 cm

Around 1900. Lion yellow ground with a flower vase and large polychrome blooming branches with an in-and-out palmette design and a niche. A wide dark blue main border with floral, palmette, and bird vine.

Somewhat heavier wear on the upper part of the carpet and repairs. The upper secondary border of the carpet is also reduced. C. 500.000 knots per square meter.
