A fine blue and white bowl with molded panels, Qing dynasty, Kangxi (1662-1722).

Thinly potted with a foliate rim and ogival panels in low relief to its deep curving walls. Decorated around the exterior with elegant ladies in a palace garden. The interior with buddhist emblems and to the centre a scholar reading under the full moon. With an apocryphal Chenghua mark to base. Diameter 21 cm.

Restored by rim.
