An ormolu and cut glass sixteen-branch Empire chandelier, Paris, early 19th century.

Frame of gilded bronze. Hung with prisms of various cuts. Light rings in two levels with rich ornamental fittings, scroll-shaped candle arms and bell-shaped candle tubes. Basket bottom with a terminating pine cone. Height 145, diameter 113.5 cm.

Provenance

Baron Henric Alexander Ramel (1848-1928), Löberöd Hammerlunda parish Skåne. Subsequently his grandson, the artist Povel Ramel, a gift from him to the current owner's family,
thence by descent.
