A Swedish late Baroque parcel-gilt silver beaker pl and cover, mark of Anders Limnell, Linköping 1740.

Partially gilded, slightly conical and with a narrow gadrooned foot rim. Late Baroque decoration on the lid and body of berain ornamentation. Engraved on the rim with the owner's mark ILS and underneath "Östnässia," as well as stamped ILS on the lid twice and once underneath. Re-stamped by Thomas Lekberg, Vadstena (1793-1817). Height 27 cm. Weight approx. 697 g.

Provenance

Owner's mark ILS refers to Jonas Larsson (1774-1852) of Östnässja farm, (Vadstena municipality) recorded in his estate inventory: "8 beakers, 1 with lid weighs together 159 lod." The re-stamping was likely done in connection with the owner's mark.
