More information

Gustav III chose to distribute jewels and rings to various individuals who had supported him during the revolution. Swedes who wanted to show that they approved of the revolution could tie a white handkerchief around their left upper arm. The auction ring is of an unusual variant with the inscription, most comparable to one in the Hallwyl Museum's collection (XXXVI:C.a.83).
