An antique Tabriz rug, Northwest Persia, c. 267 x 162 cm.

Around 1920. The design depicts several classic tales from the Persian tradition, including Khosrow Parviz discovering the bathing Shirin, the tragic love story of Leyla and Majnun, as well as the dramatic scene with Moses and Pharaoh. The main border with cartouches of various renowned Persian rulers.
