Important Winter Sale 669

View the catalogue for the season’s largest live auction – Important Winter Sale

Bukowskis presents the live auction showcasing the best of the best. Discover the finest in art, antiques, Asian works of art and jewellery.

The Art Department presents works spanning all eras – from Adolf Ulrik Wertmüller’s portrait of Marie Antoinette to Andy Warhol’s portrait of Ingrid Bergman.

Among the highlights are works by prominent Nordic masters such as "The Convalescent" by Helene Schjerfbeck; "Dad" by Cecilia Edefalk; " Gul Figur" by Gösta Adrian-Nilsson; "Märta" by Anders Zorn; Fox in a Winter Landscape by Bruno Liljefors; "Italienska med barn" by Marie Krøyer; and "Jordkällare med figur, Luc-sur-Mer" by Carl Fredrik Hill.

Among the international artists, one finds renowned names such as Victor Vasarely, Georg Kolbe, Edgar Degas, Paul Gauguin, and all three of Andy Warhol’s works from "Three portraits of Ingrid Bergman”.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of the sculptor Carl Milles. Bukowskis is honouring the jubilee by presenting six sculptures by Milles, including "Solglitter", "Folke Filbyter", and "Människan och Pegasus".

The Furniture and Works of Art Department offers masterpieces such as A Swedish Baroque Royal writing desk, by Hindrich von Hachten Ordered for the queen Hedvig Eleonora, 1683; a late Gustavian console table with a ”Blyberg” porphyry top, early 19th century; a presumably Dutch Louis XIV carved giltwood frame with mirror glass in the style of Jean Le Pautre, late 17th century; as well as an ormolu and cut glass sixteen-branch Empire chandelier, Paris, early 19th century.

The department also includes Lars Broberg’s collection of antiques and works of arts, featuring a Rococo sofa signed by Alexander Thunberg, active in Stockholm from 1756 to 1791; as well as a rare Nordic Renaissance limestone table top, dated 1625. The collection also includes a parcel-gilt silver drinking bowl, Nordic Renaissance, early 17th century, possibly from Uleåborg, Finland. See the full collection here ›

The Silver Department presents a magnificent donation to medical research – a private collection of high-quality silver donated to the Karolinska Institute. Among the highlights are Johan Lund’s parcel-gilt silver beaker from 1697; the rare lidded beaker by Anders Limnell in late Barock, Arvid Castman’s sugar casket, as well as the pair of sugar bowls by Wittkopf and Zethelius represents Swedish Rococo at its best. We invite you to explore the entire collection here ›

The Carpets, Textiles, and Islamic Art Department presents pieces from various periods and origins. Discover several works from the renowned Seirafian gallery in Isfahan – selection including works by Sadegh Seirafian—among them a magnificent example woven entirely in silk—as well as pieces by Hossein Seirafian, the rarest of Haj Agha Reza Seirafian’s sons to appear at auction, and Ali Seirafian, whose refined compositions continue the family’s celebrated legacy. The auction also includes Chapan Robes from Central Asia; and a Medallion Ushak Carpet From the 1500s. Read more
