More information

The image depicts the landowner P.A. Söderström and was first published in “Bilder av Nådens barn” in 1963. It is one of Jonsson’s most well-known photographs, and the motif has appeared in several of his exhibitions, including the one at the Hasselblad Foundation in 1993.

Sune Jonsson was awarded the prestigious Hasselblad Prize as the second Swede in 1993. This marked an international recognition of his life’s work. Sune Jonsson’s capacity and ambitions seemed limitless. Since his debut in 1959, he published 24 books, including several novels and short story collections. In addition, he produced around 20 often hour-long documentary films in collaboration with SVT about small-scale farmers in Lapland, coastal fishing, ski manufacturing, mountain farmers, and more. The number of exhibitions is countless, as are the many writers he collaborated with.
