“Peter Ojstersek […] has for many years been part of the Swedish colony in Berlin and is now beginning to establish himself in German art life. Central to his painting is the portrait, the depiction of human beings, and this is marked by a rare presence and intimacy, by a kind of inwardness that seems to reflect a view of humanity. All painting is based on an illusory light, frozen in a moment.”
