Round bowl, glaze in celadon green, interior with figure in rust brown, signed alev in underglaze blue with the company's three waves. Diameter 8 cm, height 5 cm.
Alev Ebüzziya Siesbye is a ceramic artist. After completing her foundational education in Turkey in sculpture at the Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, she moved to Germany, where she worked with ceramics for a couple of years. She then returned to Istanbul for a time and continued her journey in the world of ceramics. In 1962, Siesbye moved to Copenhagen and began working artistically at Royal Copenhagen. In 1969, she established her own workshop in Copenhagen, where she remained until 1987, when she moved to Paris. Concurrently, she designed for Rosenthal between 1975 and 1990, as well as for Royal Copenhagen from 1980 to 2000. She continues to work in Paris and has more recently also created glass objects for the Turkish company Pasabahce Glass Factories in Turkey.
