Kim Hyun-Sik is a South Korean artist born in 1965. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Hong-Ik University in Seoul in 1991.
His artistic practice has been presented in numerous solo exhibitions since the early 1990s, including in Seoul, Busan, London, and Brussels. These exhibitions demonstrate a continuous development of his work over several decades, often featuring recurring thematic titles such as “JiGO” and later series such as “Inbetween Spaces” and “Beyond the Visible.”
Kim Hyun-Sik has also participated in a large number of group exhibitions and international art fairs, including in Seoul, Singapore, New York, Rome, Beijing, and Taipei.
His artistic practice primarily involves painting and often explores themes related to space, perception, and states of liminality, which is also reflected in several of his exhibition titles such as “Between Spaces” and “Slash Space.”
