A large decorative chamotte stoneware dish, own studio, Frillesås, 1990s.
Relief decoration of a serpent and an inscription carved on the rim, glaze in brown-black, green, and white, signed EVA BENGTSSON. Diameter 68.5 cm, height 12 cm.
Purchased directly from the artist in the late 1990s by the present owner's parent.
The inscription on the plate reads as follows:
"We have already broken through the rampart
And the way back is closed
I sleep in sweet peace
Under your calloused hands
and years
of wonder
experience and maturity
step back
with the intention
to reveal a
Child"
