The Foremost Watch Auction in the Nordics

Bukowskis presents the catalogue for the spring live auction Important Timepieces – the international quality auction featuring collectible watches from prominent Swedish and international manufacturers. The auction includes over 160 timepieces, the largest edition of Important Timepieces in a decade. The selection spans from the early 19th century to the present day and comprises wristwatches, pocket watches, panel watches, stopwatches, and a marine chronometer from some of the most renowned makers, including Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, and Breguet.

Among the auction highlights are several newly discovered watches and long-forgotten drawer finds with unusual provenance now coming to the market. This includes, for instance, an early 1960s Omega Speedmaster with a so-called tropical dial, submitted by the family of the original owner. The watch comes with original accessories such as its box and certificate and is exceptionally well-preserved. Also featured is a Rolex Submariner with an underline gilt dial, boasting appealing provenance connected to the Rodriquez shipyard in Messina and early seaplane traffic between Malmö and Copenhagen. This example is also remarkably well-preserved.

Among the more distinctive pieces is a Rolex Coin Watch. The model itself is already a rare sight on the auction market, but even more unusual is an example still accompanied by its original box and certificate. As far as we are aware, this is the only example offered in such a complete condition.

The auction also features The Integrated Collection, a carefully curated selection reflecting an aesthetically driven collector’s eye for form, quality, and design history. Extremely rare wristwatches from Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet are presented here – three manufacturers that defined the elegant integrated-link wristwatch in the latter part of the 20th century. Highlights include the Patek Philippe ref. 3605 “Jumbo” and Vacheron Constantin ref. 44003 “Jumbo”, two unusual references that clearly illustrate the collection’s focus on proportion, form, and quality.

Among the neo-vintage pieces is a Patek Philippe “150th Anniversary” ref. 3960, in Sealed New Old Stock condition, possibly the only known example still unopened in its original packaging. Also offered is a first-generation Patek Philippe Aquanaut ref. 5060A with a solid caseback, a reference marking the beginning of a new chapter in the brand’s modern history.

In the category of modern wristwatches, several of today’s most sought-after models are included, such as the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona "Green Dial" and Rolex Day-Date 40 "Money Green Dial". Additionally, there is a large selection of Rolex Day-Date watches, several pieces with provenance from the Swedish military, the Heuer panel watch that won the 1965 Acropolis Rally, and multiple pocket watches, including Swedish Halda pieces and two repeaters, one of which has royal provenance.
