Cast iron, relief decoration of the zodiac, signed JOCKE DAHL 1921. Height 96 cm.

Hollow top originally intended for a sundial.

Minor wear.

Provenance

Ivar Stenberg (1908-1999), Bohult, employed at Näfveqvarns bruk.
Thence by descent to his son Bernt Hammarström (1938-2025), employed at Näfveqvarns bruk from 1952, among other roles as a lathe operator.
Thence by descent to the present owner.

Exhibitions

The model was exhibited with a sundial in the Swedish pavilion at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris in 1925 and was awarded a silver medal. The model was subsequently also shown at the Swedish design exhibitions at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago in 1927.
