Ash and ash veneer, manufacturer's metal label NK R 40403 - C 34643. Length 80 cm, width 32 cm, height 42 cm.

Provenance

Managing Director Sten Hultberg (1909-2002) & textile designer Astrid Sampe (1909-2002).
Thence by descent to the present owner.

Astrid Sampe was head of the textile department at Nordiska Kompaniet and collaborated extensively with Elias Sveberg. The rugs and textiles that NK exhibited in Paris in 1937 were all designed by Sampe.

Exhibitions

Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne, Paris 1937, the present table was exhibited in Sweden's pavilion.

Parts of the interiors from Sweden's pavilion later became a travelling exhibition in Warsaw, Prague, and Riga during the spring of 1938. The table was subsequently also shown at the exhibition "Vi bo i Ribershus" (We Live in Ribershus) in Malmö during the autumn of 1938.
