Thomas Millroth, "Pierre Olofsson", 1992, compare with "Flick-Flack", illustrated p. 79.
The dynamic possibilities of the circle and ellipse were constantly occupying the artist Pierre Olofsson. Behind his light touch lay both a classical geometric foundation and inspiration from the city's architectural dynamics. Olofsson was particularly delighted in the eternally circulating traffic at Slussen in Stockholm. He was keen to see how the rhythm moved like a little squirrel in the picture. Flick Flack was originally a painting turned into a series of paintings and then executed as a mural and a textile. The mural Flick Flack in black and white, was commissioned by the Swedish company Grängesberg in 1960. Flick Flack was produced as a fabric print for Nordiska Kompaniet two years later.
