Elegant lady with a large hatt with black feathers, she lifts her blouse and bares her bosom. Can be opened in the back, with erotic motif. Measure motif 22x29.5 cm. Measure with Chinese frame 27x35 cm.

Margaret Jourdain and R Soame Jenyns; Chinese Export Art in the Eighteeth Century, discusses about the paintings on glass, the cultural exchanges in these, made fore export, ofthen deriving in som degree of the decoration from European engravings. The technicque arriving to the court of Peking thorugh the Jesuit G. Castiglione (1688-1766).

These paintings have their chinese counterpart as well, boxlike paintings or ivory-carvings for example with a hidden drawer in the back to reveal an erotic image.
