A sancai-glazed pottery jar, Tang dynasty (618-907).

The wide ovoid body liberally splashed with bright ochre, cream and green glaze that covers the short neck and continues over the out-turned rim, all on a white slip that falls irregularly towards the flat base exposing the pale pinkish/white buff ware. Height 18 cm. Later wooden stand included to the lot, height including the stand 23.5 cm.

Provenance

From the Collection of Anny, nee Everitt (1876-1974) och Sten Bergstrand (1875-1862), thence by descent within the family.
