Oval shape decorated in famille rose with evenly spaced landscape panels, each decorated in bright enamels against a ground enamelled to mimic wood, and with a coral red ground around the feet. Length c. 28 cm. Height 8.5 cm. Height with wooden stand 19.5 cm.

As porcelain was a medium that was relatively easy to control and decorate to high standards, it was frequently used in Jingdezhen to simulate a variety of other works of art such as hardstone, bronzes, cloisonné, wood and lacquer.
