A blue and white writing box, Ming dynasty (1368-1644).

Narrow mid section, of double lozenge shape, divided in to two compartments, with hollow cylindrical columns/holders for pen in each corner, decorated in underglaze blue with flowering branches. The base with four character mark. Length 16.2 cm.
