A French Empire figural omolu and patinated bronze mantel clock, Paris, early 19th century.

Gilded and patinated bronze. After a model by Jean-Simon Deverberie (1764-1824). Modeled as Cupid painting a dog, the base shaped like a tree stump enclosing the movement, white-painted dial with Roman numeral indices, on a round footplate with three lion paw-shaped legs. Length 22, width 21.5, height 44 cm. Key and pendulum included.
