A snuff bottle in mottled stone decorated in relief with a landscape scene. Height 7.2 cm. A small snuff bottle in gourd shape, decorated with bats, height 4.5 cm. An unsculptured nephrite snuff bottle with stopper, height 7 cm. A brown stone snuff bottle sculptured with insects, height 7.5 cm.

From the collection of Sylvia Hurtig (born Armstrong Morris) (1926-1996), thence by descent. The collection was brought together mainly in the 1960’s. Sylvia, born in England, Newscastle-on-Tyne, but living in Stockholm had a particular passion for jade and during her frequent visits to London she acquired the pieces from Christie’s, Sotheby’s as well as from Bukowskis and through the Swedish/Armenian antique dealer Solberger, Tegnérgatan, Stockholm.
