Ola Eriksson was a Swedish carpenter, cabinetmaker and sculptor, born and active in Taserud and Arvika in Värmland. Ola Eriksson was the eldest of the Eriksson brothers; the others were Elis, Christian and Karl. Their father, Erik Olsson, founded a carpentry in Taserud in the 1850s. After the sons had trained in Sweden and abroad, they took over the firm, which was renamed “Bröderna Erikssons Möbelverkstad”. They produced furniture commissioned by, among others, Carl Westman, Ragnar Östberg, Gustaf Fjaestad and Ivar Tengbom. Each brother had his own speciality in the firm: Ola Eriksson was the carpenter, Karl Eriksson (Mäster-Karl) and Elis Eriksson (Elis i Taserud) were the cabinetmakers, while the sculptor Christian Eriksson created models for figures and fittings. The workshop also had links with the Rackstad Group. Ola Eriksson was, for example, one of those who executed the magnificent furniture designed by Gustaf Fjaestad for Signe Maria and Ernest Thiel around 1907–1908; the furniture is now housed at Thielska Galleriet.
