Last auction of the season: June 12– 14

The last auction of the season contains a mix of classic wines and modern rarities. Excellent vintages from champagne like 1990, 1996 and 2000 dominates the start of the auction followed by some unique sweet Ch. d’Yquem and Monbazillac. Day one finishes with dry whites and a really nice selection of matured port.

Next day includes French red wines from Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rhône. Amongst the more notable objects appears original cases of 1990 Ch. Mouton Rothschild, 1982 Ch. Latour and 2000 La Tache.

The final day shows great wines from Italy and USA with some of the most sought-after producers. Biondi Santi, Ceretto, Scavino from Italy and Sine qua Non, Colgin and Scarecrow from USA just to mention some of them.

Traditionally the auction finishes with the distillates. This time with an amazing collection from famous Ichiro’s card series and Ace of Spades as the top number. Scotch malt are also represented with some rarities like 1968 Glenfiddich Vintage Reserve and 1971 Macallan Anniversary.

Bidding is possible from June 3rd and ends 12-14th of June.

Buying at auction

The auctions are held over the course of three days, eight times a year – four in the spring and four in the autumn. The first online auction will be held on 6-8 March. See Systembolaget’s website for an up to date [auction calendar]((https://www.systembolaget.se/dryckesauktioner). The objects will be displayed on Bukowski’s website 7-10 days before the auction begins. All objects are displayed using an image and description provided by Systembolaget’s valuation expert. Systembolaget’s auctions are also presented in a separate category on Bukowski’s website.

Selling at auction

The valuation of objects submitted for auction is an ongoing process. Register the bottles you would like to have valued by completing the valuation form at systembolaget.se. To make the valuation process quicker and easier, please complete the form in as much detail as possible and append images. Systembolaget’s valuation expert will carry out an initial assessment, and if it indicates that Systembolaget would be interested in selling the object, you will receive a preliminary valuation.

Objects that have received a positive valuation notification should be handed in to Bukowskis – see offices and opening hours, taking the valuation notification with you when you hand the object(s) in. Once the objects have been handed in, we will carry out a final valuation and set a reserve price.
Handing in of objects for auction starts on 9 January.

Johan Blanche
Johan has 30 years’ experience of exclusive wines, drinks tastings, and advising on wine storage. He is also the author of “Olivoljeguiden” (The Olive Oil Guide) and has worked both as a consultant in the food industry and a sommelier. Johan values wines ahead of the auctions.

Patrik Nordström
Patrik is a whisky enthusiast, back in the early 1990s he was one of the co-founders of the now closed Stockholm Single Malt Society. He has 20 years of experience from Systembolaget including tutoring drinks tastings since the early 2000s. Patrik is also a published archaeologist.
