Louise Lyberg Collection

Bukowskis is honoured to be entrusted with the sale of the collection of art and works of art from the estate of the late Mrs Louise Lyberg (1932-2024), former First Lady of the Court.

Throughout her long life, Louise Lyberg (née von Schwerin) carried with her a rich history, from her upbringing at Skarhult Castle in Skåne, the war years in Berlin, being one of the first generation of air hostesses, to serving as a Governor's wife, Chief Curator at Bukowski Auctions with responsibility for the art department, author, expert on SVT’s Antikrundan, and Head of the Queen’s Household. Louise Lyberg was versatile and intellectual, equally dedicated to her professional commitments as she was to her deep cultural interests. She surrounded herself with beautiful objects and was a great lover of art, often having personal connections to the artists whose works filled her home. She authored the art biography of Emil Johansson-Thor, and together with Mereth Lindgren and others, she co-wrote Svensk Konsthistoria, published by Signum in 1986.

Louise Lyberg was held in high esteem at Bukowskis, as an honoured colleague and friend.
