Björn Weckström 90 years

For 60 years, Björn Weckström (b. 8.2.1935) has captivated jewellery lovers worldwide with his sculptural, nature-inspired designs. A pioneer in jewellery art and one of Finland’s most renowned designers, Weckström’s work blends organic forms, contrasts, and abstraction, reflecting the Nordic landscape. In addition to jewellery, Weckström is a distinguished sculptor, with his artistic expression extending to larger sculptural works.

Beginning his career in 1956 after graduating from Helsinki Kultaseppäkoulu, Weckström quickly established himself as a visionary in jewellery design. In 1963, he joined Lapponia as head designer, where he played a defining role in shaping the brand’s bold and artistic identity. Over the decades, he created more than 1,500 unique pieces, each reflecting his distinctive sculptural approach.

This year, as Weckström has turned 90, we celebrate his remarkable legacy with a special theme auction. Explore a selection of his visionary creations, where abstract simplicity meets expressive craftsmanship in silver, gold, platinum, and precious gemstones.
