The Collector’s World – Part Two

Collecting is something we humans have done since time immemorial, for many different reasons – because objects carry memories and emotions, to create order and structure in our lives, to express our identity, for pleasure, or as part of a hobby. Many major collections have, after the collector’s passing, become museums (for example the Hallwyl Museum in Stockholm); others, like this collection, have been sold at auction, perhaps to be incorporated into a new collection.

This collection contains objects that spoke to our collector – items of varying character and value. The collector filled their home with objects which, at the time they were acquired, held meaning and fitted into a context that we may not see, but which was clear to the collector. Now the time has come for these objects to speak to a new collector and to enrich their collection. We welcome you to browse among this abundance of fun, unusual and fascinating objects.
